The year is 2020. On the occasion of the memorable anniversary (100 years of the Carinthian plebiscite), the State of Carinthia launches a daring and exorbitantly expensive expedition: the members of the German-Slovenian Carinthian band The Talltones Extended are sent to the moon at the taxpayers’ expense. There, the popular musicians are tasked with erecting a plebiscite monument, laying a wreath, and playing an open-air concert.
The film was created as part of Carinthija 2020 as a joint project by the associations VERUS and VADA. It is a mix of experimental film, mockumentary, fake news, animation, and art film—an ode to parochial absurdity and a declaration of love to the province.
